The Bridge Hospice

Board Directors

Wendy Kellar, TBH Chair

With over 22 years of experience, I am passionate about helping clients and families understand and take control of their finances. Born and raised in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), I immigrated to Canada, where I met and married my husband, Norm. We’ve lived in the Quinte area since 1990, raising 4 children, 15 grandchildren, and soon, 3 great-grandchildren.

Community involvement is important to me. I started volunteering in 1982, taking on roles such as chair of fundraising, Santa Claus Parade, breakfast for learning, and chair of the Parent Teacher Association. We also farmed for 18 years, growing market garden vegetables and raising clean lamb.

In 2001, I earned a Business Administration degree with honors and started my own financial planning business. Since 2005, I’ve been a board member of Bay of Quinte Advocis, holding various chair positions and currently serving as President.

In my personal time, I enjoy traveling, gardening, and crafting. My professional designations include Wealth & Estate Planning and Certified Executor Advisor. I am actively involved in estate planning and support for aging clients and their families. I am honored to serve on the Bridge Hospice board, dedicated to providing care and support to our elderly and vulnerable community members.

Joe Charlton, Treasurer

Joseph (Joe) Charlton is a seasoned professional with over 20 years in Information Technology and 7 years in Financial Services, offering a unique blend of strategic leadership, financial expertise, and technological innovation. Having served as Vice President and Advocacy Chair for the Belleville Chapter of Advocis, Joe leads initiatives in industry advancement and public engagement. As a licensed financial advisor, he specializes in financial planning, risk management, and wealth growth. He is also the founder of an IT support company, helping small businesses integrate technology with financial strategy.

Joe’s career reflects a deep dedication to innovation, stakeholder relations, and policy development—driven by a passion for elevating professional standards and empowering others through education and advocacy.

Nestled among gentle rolling hills, The Bridge Hospice is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe People in Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig Territory, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations. For 15,000 yrs the First Nations walked upon and cared for this land we now call home. Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these land and waters that give us life and sustain our communities.  We are committed to listening to and learning from our Indigenous neighbours, residents and families on the road to reconciliation.
