A reassuring alternative to dying in hospital or at home

Most of us want to die at home. But the reality of our final weeks may be very different from what we envisioned:

At Home

• a nurse is not onsite for an acute pain crisis at 2 am, a serious fall, delirium, or other forms of distress
• family caregivers exhaust themselves physically & emotionally, just as their loved one’s needs intensify – robbing everyone of precious quality time
• an acute event may result in an emergency hospital admission, and our final days are spent in a hospital ward

We provide our hospice services free of charge. However, patients and families are responsible for:

• dedicated nurses and PSWs are at bedside 24/7, with never more than 3 people in our care at one time
• everyone’s care is directed and supervised by a physician or nurse practitioner who work closely with our caregivers
• 3 serene resident rooms (including outdoor deck) offering beauty & privacy for family time together
• family is welcome – pets included
• loved ones are given guidance & support every step of the way
• highly trained volunteers for additional support & hospitality
• confidentiality is assured
• religious, spiritual & Indigenous counsel is available on request
• all care is provided free of charge
